ART III: DRAWING II

Course Description

Drawing II, III, and IV are media specific courses. Students will develop the fundamental skills needed for a solid foundation in drawing. The elements and principles of design will be introduced through the exciting exploration of various drawing media and techniques. Composition, observation, techniques, art movements, and styles will be emphasized. The structure of the class will consist of guided exercises, class projects, artist videos, group discussion, and critiques.

Goals and Objectives

Students will be required to complete various art projects utilizing a variety of media to create a work of art. A significant amount of class time will be utilized in order to allow students adequate time to complete their art assignments. Homework will be required periodically, but most of the work is completed during the class time provided. Therefore, it requires the student to have good attendance in order to have sufficient time to complete their art assignments. However should a student be absent from class or need more time to complete a project, the assignment ,may become homework or the student may be required to come into class during tutorials in order to complete their art project.
